Gazing out at night hoping to catch a sighting of a hare illuminated by moonlight. An iconic image that inspired my original limited edition Linocut design, which has been reproduced on this beautiful blue and white, screen printed tea towel.
Growing up in the North Norfolk countryside, I enjoyed an idyllic childhood, and soon developed an interest in the wealth of wildlife around me. An interest in art soon followed, and I would draw and scribble on anything that came to hand.
My career as a professional artist began during the late 1970’s when I opened a small art gallery, showing my own and other 'carefully selected' artist's work.
My work has spanned sculpture, book illustration, stage sets, interiors and the design and restoration of lacquered furniture and Chinoiserie, including work for The Fitzwilliam Museum and The Ashmolean Museum.
Animals have continued to feature strongly in my work over time, whatever the medium.
Although my preferred medium is charcoal and pastels I have developed a love for relief printing, and find the process incredibly exciting.
At present I am working on a new product range including textiles and a limited edition, heirloom children's trilogy, hand bound with hand written text and hand printed illustrations.
